Our Pilates Approach
The Body Control Pilates method offers a comprehensive programme of exercises, which are adapted from the ‘classical’ exercises developed by Joseph Pilates.
Body Control believes that some of these classical exercises are often not suitable for the average person and the average body.
In order for someone to work safely and effectively and to gain the full benefits of Pilates, these classical exercises should be broken down to establish good movement skills thus building the best possible foundation upon which to progress towards the classical, more advanced work.
This is the essence of the Body Control Pilates Method.
Pilates is a mind and body conditioning programme which focuses on balance, strength, flexibility and postural alignment. It uses low impact exercise and is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels.
Regularly practising Pilates can strengthen core stabilising muscles, improve muscle tone, enhance joint mobility and encourage relaxation by releasing stress and tension.
